We Test
Above & Beyond the Standards
We test our products above and beyond the federal standards so you can sleep soundly knowing your little one is safe. We have 8 cutting edge test labs around the world where we ensure our products live up to our rigorous testing standards. No one takes safety and testing as seriously as we do at Delta Children.
Our Dresser Tip-Over Test simulates a child climbing onto open dresser drawers and ensures the dresser won’t fall over onto the child. Delta Children tests each drawer to hold 50 lbs. Also, every Delta Children dresser includes a wall-anchor for additional safety and support!
Our Bassinet Tip Test simulates an older sibling pulling down on the side of the bassinet and ensures the product won’t tip over. The federal standard requires a 23 lb weight to be secured on the bassinet for 10 seconds. We test 23 lbs. for 20 seconds – double the amount of time!
Our Walker Stair Test simulates a walker approaching a stair edge. We specifically test the auto-breaking feature which stops our walkers from rolling down stairs.
Our Toy Box Hinge Test ensures that the hinge of our toy boxes will open and close safely without trapping or pinching kids’ fingers. To test this, we require the lid to be opened and closed 7,000 consecutive times without breaking or snapping.
Our Static Load Test simulates a child being placed into the booster seat by a parent and tests the durability of the product. The federal standard is 50 lbs. but at Delta Children, we test 150 lbs!
Our Chair Tip test simulates an active toddler leaning back in the chair. Delta Children tests all chairs to hold 51 lbs. and tip back at a 10-degree angle without falling or breaking.
Our Crib Side Rail Test mimics another child stepping into the crib. The federal standard requires 250 impacts to the side rail of the crib to test the durability. At Delta Children, we test our cribs with 1,000 impacts.
Our Stroller Treadmill Durability Test simulates a stroller going from smooth to bumpy surfaces and tests the overall durability of the stroller. The federal standard requires the stroller be tested for 72 hours on the treadmill. At Delta Children, we test our strollers for 300 hours.
Our Arm Strength Test simulates an adult pushing down on the arms of the chair. There is no federal standard for this test, but at Delta Children we test our gliders with 60,000 impacts to ensure the durability.
Our Heavy Metals Test ensures your toddler is sleeping in the healthiest environment possible. The federal standard tests for lead. At Delta Children, we test for lead and 7 other heavy metals including Mercury, Barium, Arsenic, Antimony, Cadmium, Chromium, and Selenium.
